MPR FINALISES THE 2024 OPEC ANNUAL DATA QUESTIONNAIRE EXERCISE.

The Ministry of Petroleum Resources has in Abuja finalised Data Reconciliation and Review Meeting focused on completing Nigeria’s submission for the 2024 OPEC Annual Questionnaire (AQ).

This important session brought together representatives from various agencies involved in the data collation process, reaffirming their collective commitment to accuracy and transparency in Nigeria’s oil and gas reporting.

Delivering the welcome address,the Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary (DOOPs) MPR Mr. UsmanAbdulkadir, praised the representatives for returning as agreed during their previous engagement.

He acknowledged their shared dedication to thoroughly reviewing and reconciling the data submitted for the questionnaire. According to him, the collaboration demonstrated a commendable sense of duty and professionalism, which is crucial for the credibility of the report.

Mr. Usman further expressed appreciation for the efforts of the agencies involved, particularly highlighting the contributions of the officers directly participating in the exercise. “I believe the Ministry may consider writing formally to your respective agencies to acknowledge that you are indeed representing them exceptionally well,” he remarked, emphasizing the value of their hard work and diligence.

He also commended the Chairperson of the technical session and representative from NNPCL, Mrs. Ijeoma Israel-Ola for her effective leadership and coordination throughout the process.

Concluding his remarks, Mr. Usman urged all participants to remain focused and ensure the timely submission of the finalized report to OPEC Headquarters in Vienna.

He reiterated the importance of meeting international obligations promptly and maintaining Nigeria’s reputation for reliability in data reporting.
