Midstream Departments is saddled with the responsibility of supervising the midstream activities in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

Procurement Department
The Department of Procurement is one of the Common Service Departments in the Ministry. The Procurement Department has two sections namely; Capital and Recurrent, responsible for the procurement of goods, works and services to the Ministry.

Department develops and implements oil and gas sector policies, conducts research, and oversees regulatory activities.
Upstream Department
Department formulates, monitors, and evaluates upstream petroleum policies and regulations, ensuring compliance, promoting local content, and facilitating industry growth and development.
Human Resources Department
Department manages over 1000 staff, divided into APD and SWT divisions, responsible for planning, development, welfare, appointment, promotion, and discipline for ministry and its agencies.
General Services Department
Department manages transport, utilities, stores, facilities, maintenance, office allocation, security, and other services.
Gas department
DGR, established in 2012, oversees Nigeria’s vast gas reserves (199 tscf, potentially 300-600 tscf), ranking it 11th, potentially 7th globally.
