The theme of the meeting was “The Gas Potentials of Nigeria: Optimizing the Gas Value Chain”.

The Fourth (4th) National Council on Hydrocarbons (NCH) was held on Tuesday 17th December, 2019 at the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Headquarters, Abuja under the Chairmanship of the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E. Timipre Sylva. The theme of the meeting was “Strategies for Enhancing the Global Competitiveness of Nigeria’s Hydrocarbons Value Chain”.
National Gas Policy
The purpose of this document is to define the policy of the Federal government in respect of Nigeria’s natural gas endowment, establish its medium to long-term targets for gas reserves growth and utilization and record strategies to be pursued to ensure the successful implementation of the policy in accordance with Nigeria’s national socio-economic development priorities.
Ministry setting robust boundaries for national acreage management
Energy professionals and consultants pulled together by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources have agreed that to achieve the new targets set by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration for the Oil and Gas Sector, there is need for urgent and conscious efforts to put a sound and stress-free acreage management policy in place. National Acreage Management Policy seeks to make efficient gains and returns to national coffers from the oil mineral leases.
