Lydia Oluwakemi Ogunmakinwa (Mrs.) is a Deputy-Director (Information) and Head; Press and Public Relations Unit, Ministry of Petroleum Resources.She had her First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) from St. John’s Anglican Primary School, Idode via Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State in 1979 and West African School Certificate(WASC) ‘O’ Level from Alaro Community High School, Ijebu-Ode in 1984.
She attended Ogun State College of Education, Ijebu-Ode for the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) between 1986 and 1989.She proceeded to the University of Ibadan for a Bachelor in Education (B.Eds) in 1994and M.Ed. in 1998 and she attended the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja fora Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism (1997).
She has served as a Resident Information Officer (RIO) across different Ministries. These include the Federal Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Ministry of Defense, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and presently, Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
She was also a Desk Officer at the Child Rights Information Bureau (CRIB), Federal Ministry of Information and Culture between 2005 and 2006. Mrs. Ogunmakinwa is an effective information manager and communicator (oral and written) with strong information management and delivery skills, result oriented, proven leadership and influencing skills and vast in Public Relations and Social Media Strategy.
She is a recipient of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development 2016Best Staff Award (17th May, 2018) and Letter of Commendation by the former Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Amb. Mariam Yalwaji Katagum, CON(2023).
Her hobbies include reading, watching movies of interest and meeting people. She is married and the union is blessed with children.
