The Director, Internal Audit Department, Mr. Emeka Emmanuel Aziwe, FCA, is a native of Obosi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State. He attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he bagged a degree in Accountancy in 1988.
Prior to joining the Federal Civil Service on 14th August, 2000, he worked with Uche Chigbo and Co. (Chartered Accountants), 1999 – 2000, Bifex Consultants Ltd in Enugu under Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) Health Management Consultancy Project as Project Accountant (1996 – 1999); First African Trust Bank (1992 – 1995) and News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) 1990 – 1991.
Since joining the Civil Service, he has worked in various capacities at the National Bureau of Statistics (October 2000 – March 2022), as Acting Director, Finance and Accounts, Head of Accounts, Head of Procurement Unit and as Procurement Officer on Economic Reform and Governance Project (ERGP) a Multi Sectoral World Bank Project.
Before his deployment to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, he served as Director(Finance and Accounts) at the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) between 13th April, 2023 and 28th January, 2024. He also served as Deputy Director (Exp.), Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (MMSD) from 13thMay, 2022 to 12th April, 2023.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). His hobbies are Travelling, Reading, Playing Football, Scrabble, Chess, Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis and listening to music. He is married with children.
