Procurement Department

 

The Procurement Department has two sections namely; Capital and Recurrent, responsible for the procurement of goods, works and services to the Ministry.

Activities/Functions of the Procurement Department

  • Procurement of goods works and services to the Ministry.
  • Ensure that project comply with the Public Procurement Act, 2007 in the implementation of the Ministry’s budget as it affects the award of contract.

 

Profile of Director

Mrs. Nwoye F. Adaobi  had her primary education at St Patrick’s Secondary School, Igbu Awkuzu; Secondary Education at Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha; University of Nigeria, Nsukka for her First Degree, and the University of Jos for her Master’s Degree.

Upon completion of the mandatory National Youth Service, she was employed by the Plateau State Ministry of Education Ministry where she served as a teacher for five years.

In March, 1992, she joined the Federal Civil Service and was deployed to the Ministry of Defence, where she started her career as an Education Officer; School Guidance Counsellor at Command Day Secondary School Jos.  She also worked at Command Day Secondary School, Lungi Barracks, Abuja where she rose to the rank of Chief Education Officer.

In 2010, she switched to Procurement Cadre as Chief Procurement Officer.

Mrs. Nwoye served as Procurement Officer in different Ministries including, Federal Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Federal Ministry of Interior, Federal Ministry of Communication Technology, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Ministry of Defence, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and presently, Ministry of Petroleum Resources where she is Director of Procurement.

She is happily married and blessed with children.
