Procurement Department


The Procurement Department has two sections namely; Capital and Recurrent, responsible for the procurement of goods, works and services to the Ministry.

Activities/Functions of the Procurement Department

  • Procurement of goods works and services to the Ministry.
  • Ensure that project comply with the Public Procurement Act, 2007 in the implementation of the Ministry’s budget as it affects the award of contract.


Mr. Docta Tijani Husara is the head, Procurement department of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

He schooled at the University of Maiduguri where he obtained a B.Sc (Hons) Economics in 1989. He joined the Federal Civil Service on on 3rd May, 1991

Before his deployment to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in 2022, he has had stints across MDAs. These include; Federal Ministry of Works and Housing (1991-2001), State House (2001-2010), Lands, Urban and Housing (2010-2014), Labour and Employment (2014-2015), Budget and Planning (2015-2016), Rural Electrification Agency (REA) (2016-2020),  NBET (2020-2021) and the Office of the Accountant General (2021-2022)

He is married with children
