Mr. Usman Abdulkadir, MNIM was born in Gombe, Gombe State. He attended Central Primary School, Government Secondary School, Kaltungo between 1972 – 1983. He then proceeded to the University of Maiduguri and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in History in 1989. He also holds PGD in Education from NTI, Kaduna in 2015.
He undertook his mandatory national service in Ibadan, Oyo State from 1989 – 1990. He started his public service career with the Federal Civil Service in 1991 as Personnel Officer II (SGL 08) and was deployed to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. He rose through the ranks to the post of Director (SGL 17) in 2018.
He was variously at the Ministries of Agriculture, Housing & Urban Development, Information & Culture, Budget & Economic Planning. He was at a point seconded to the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) as Ag. Director, Human Resource Management from 2016 – 2023.
He has performed several Ad hoc duties, viz:
- Recording Secretary, Mineral Resources Rehabilitation Fund Management Committee;
- Member, Committee on the verification of Debt Owed Geological Survey Division;
- Secretariat of Presidential Implementation Committee on FG Landed Properties; and
- Presidential Inauguration 2023.
He is happily married with children and had traveled widely.
